What's the Big Deal?

Biblical Reference: Phillipians 4:8

Approximate Running Time: 15 minutes

Cast of Characters: 1 Female, & 1 Either Sex

Synopsis

Barb is getting ready to host a Halloween party. She's planning on dressing up as a fortune teller and telling the fortunes of those in attendance. Bill happens upon her as she is practicing her routine and Barb quickly suggests that he be her first customer and help her practice. Bill isn't too happy with the idea and tries to tell Barb why he doesn't want to participate. Barb makes a deal with him: he plays the part of her customer and then she'll sit and listen to why he doesn't think that it was a good idea.

After Barb tells Bill's fortune Bill takes the opportunity to point out to Barb that Christians shouldn't open themselves up to the demon realm even if they think that they're just doing it for fun.

This play will work well even if Halloween is the farthest thing in the minds in the audience. It stresses the importance of not getting involved in the spiritual realm of Satan through things like crystal balls, psychics, and horoscopes - something that is relevant every day of the year.
