Heart and Soul
A College Aged Teen

The Heart and Soul Series is a series of five powerful monologues written to convey various struggles and triumphs of five different women who are looking back on the experiences of five different stages of life. These monologues can be performed individually, on consecutive weeks, or as a single program.

A College Aged Teen is the second in the series. It presents the viewpoint of an older teenager as she is faced with the reality that she has reached the edge of the precipice of childhood and now has to prepare for real life. She is faced with decisions regarding which school she should attend, which degree she should seek, which job she may be interested in, should she pursue marriage, a family, should she be a stay-at-home mom, and other concerns unique to a college aged teen. What a difficult and uncertain time of life for a young lady. She has to make up her mind regarding decisions that will effect her for the rest of her life, she thinks that she only has one chance to get it right, and she feels as if she is all alone in the decision making process.

She stresses that no matter how you feel regarding the circumstances around you, you can be assured that God is in control. He is there to forgive you, to heal you, to guide you, and He does it in his consistent loving and supporting Spirit.

She believes that her struggles are unique to her age, but the truth is that everyone feels inadequate at times and uncertain about the future. This monologue can be used to minister to women of all ages.
