Starting A Family The Heart and Soul Series is a series of five powerful monologues written to convey various struggles and triumphs of five different women who are looking back on the experiences of five different stages of life. These monologues can be performed individually, on consecutive weeks, or as a single program. Starting A Family is the third in the series. It presents the viewpoint of a young mother who has just started a family. She is faced with stresses and decisions that cannot be comprehended unless you have been in her shoes. The stresses of having young children, of running a household, of taking care of her husband, and trying to find time to take care of herself are not what she had been expecting when she made the decision to do what she is now doing. She feels as if she is alone in the world, as if personal time is something that she has just ransomed to get her baby, and as if there is no one that she can talk to. She stresses that no matter what happens, God is always there for you. He adds purpose and meaning to a difficult life. He understands us, our struggles, our concerns, and He ministers to us in a person way. She also stresses the importance of Bible study and prayer in the midst of a busy life. This monologue will directly minister to the young ladies who are currently stuck in this situation. It will encourage them, show them that they are not alone, and hopefully it will open up the opportunity to find someone else who can help them get through the rough days by providing a shoulder to lean on, and cry on.
