Mystery Dinners

Mystery dinners have been a craze over the past few years. Having a group of people over to one's house to play the parts in some adventurous story while eating dinner has become quite an attraction to many couples across the country. Unfortunately, these games have been developed to be attractive to secular players rather than Christians.

I need to inform you that there is a difference between Mystery Dinners and Mystery Dinner Theatre. Mystery Dinners are games that are played where the participants play the parts of the characters and the mystery is unfolded as the evening progresses. Mystery Dinner Theatre is a play that is performed before an audience. Acts of Light provides both resources, so be sure you're ordering the resource you're interested. Please refer to the Full-Length Play information for more details on Mystery Dinner Theatre.

We have attempted to develop mystery dinners which can be enjoyed by Christians. We have created mysteries which contain no sexual references or subplots whatsoever and which keep all of the violence one person removed from those who participate. Some of the characters have to engage in deceitful behavior, but most of them have only taken an innocent role in the mysteries themselves. We have created the dinners in a way which makes the search for the story itself most of what constitutes the mystery. The participants will spend the majority of the evening attempting to put the pieces of the story together just as the pieces of a puzzle would be put together in order to reveal the entire picture.

Each time our mystery dinners have been played we have received great reviews. I encourage you to further investigate the possibility of hosting a mystery dinner for the junior high, senior high, young adult, older adult, or a menagerie of age groups within your church. We've had past success with each age group listed above.

The dinners also work well for birthday parties, housewarming parties, or any reason to get a group of your friends together for an evening together.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions regarding the mystery dinners that are available through Acts of Light.

There are two dinners currently available. Select the links below for more information on the details for each of the dinners.
