He is Risen! is the third in the trilogy of Easter monologues which resolves the hopelessness that the audience feels after the character in I Believed in Him leaves them uncertain of their faith in Him. He is Risen! begins just as the same character in I Believed in Him learns of the resurrection and just after he has put the words of Christ together to complete the puzzle. The believer now has a full understanding of the eternal implications of what Christ has just done and he will not stop proclaiming what he has learned until the entire world knows what Christ has done. You can use the monologues of this trilogy individually, in three consecutive weeks, or back to back in one powerful Easter monologue production. Either way, these monologues will convey a powerful message to your audience in a powerful way. I'd like to add a personal note here. I have performed these monologues in my own church around Easter time and I can't recommend them to you enough. The comments that I have received from those in attendance, as well as my pastor, have amazed me. The powerful description of the crucifixion, the way the audience feels after the character in I Believed in Him! shares his doubt and dismay, and the immense joy that is expressed by that same character in He Is Risen! takes the audience on a roller coaster ride that opens their eyes to aspects of the story that they have never thought about before. I can usually expect to receive comments on any presentation that I do in church, but these monologues evoked expressions from strong Christians who thanked me for taking them to the scene of the crucifixion and opening their eyes to what happened to Christ and how the different stages of the events would have made them feel if they had been there. I'm sure that you can effect your congregation in a powerful way through the performance of these powerful Easter monologues. Order This Play
