Synopsis

Ted is caught in sin. He realizes that every time he sins he is removing himself from fellowship with God. Feeling as if he has little control over the sin that is controlling him he calls upon a good Christian friend, Bill, to help him out. After sharing his concern over the difficulty that he is having, Bill takes the opportunity to comfort Ted.

Rather than allowing Ted to blame the sin for the control that it has over him, and rather than allowing Ted to feel as if he is the victim in the whole thing, Bill decides to comfort Ted by letting him know that he is not alone. He shares the fact that all humans are separated from God by sin - no matter how big or small the sin may be.

Bill then comforts Ted by telling him that he is not alone in the struggle over whatever sin is plaguing him. He tells Ted that he has Christian friends who are willing to help him out and that he can always call upon his Lord and Savior to give him strength in times of trial.

This play can have a strong impact on an audience because we all have sin in our lives. Some of us are struggling with one particular sin on a daily basis. Some of us try to hide the sin, thinking that it only effects us and has no impact on those around us. Some of us think that we are involved in some kind of sin that God cannot forgive. Some of us think that there is no way out and that we just can't share our problems with anyone else. Because of the fact that we have all been there, or are there right now, the principles conveyed through this play apply to us all. Maybe the Lord will use this play to bring hidden sin within your congregation out into the open where it can be dealt with and forgotten.
